Breast cancer treatments continue during the pandemic, in a new way!
“We’re very fortunate in the breast cancer world,” said Dr. Theresa Graves, a breast cancer surgeon with Brown Surgical Associates and director of the Breast Cancer Center of Lifespan Cancer Institute.
Graves recently told Channel 10’s Barbara Morse that most patients, as many as 80 percent, have the type of breast cancer that is fueled by the hormone estrogen. That means they can be treated, at home, with medications that keep those levels in check until they can go in for surgery.
