A local EMT is benefiting from weight loss surgery performed by Brown Surgical Associates’ Dr. Siva Vithiananthan.
“My surgery was just a few days before kind of everything went hectic,” Morgan Schmitt, a Cumberland resident who works as an EMT in Quincy, Massachusetts – told WJAR’s Barbara Morse.
That surgery was on March 2 on the cusp of the coronavirus pandemic.
“I was 271 pounds pre-op and now I’m 211, so it’s 60 pounds today actually,” beamed Schmitt.
