Two of Brown Surgical Associates surgeons have been promoted to Associate Professor of Surgery, Clinician Educator at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University effective July 1, 2020.
In addition to her excellent teaching skills, Leslie A. Roth, M.D. has taken a special interest in career mentoring residents and fellows and is especially helpful in navigating a specialty and plan for future careers. Her lectures are rated as extremely high-yield and well-organized and, as noted by colleagues, Dr. Roth has distinguished herself as an expert in her field.
The promotion of Andrew H. Stephen, M.D. is in recognition of his excellent clinical teaching skills, also acknowledged by the numerous teaching awards from the Department and the Medical School beginning as far back as 2012, and his involvement in the various teaching programs and lectures. Dr. Stephen’s regional and national reputation in the areas of trauma surgery and surgical critical care, as well as his scholarly activity, were also factors in supporting this much-deserved promotion.
