In addition to laughter being able to raise spirits, the Rhode Island Burn Foundation is hoping it will also help raise money that will eventually support burn survivors and their families.
The nonprofit, with the help of Funny4Funds, is hosting its first-ever comedy fundraiser.
Brown Surgical Associates’ Dr. David Harrington is the director of RIBF and founded the organization in the wake of the 2003 Station Nightclub Fire. Its goal is to provide help and support services to burn survivors and families, firefighters, and members of the medical community affected by burn-related injuries and traumas.
The comedy event, which is for adults 18+, will be held on March 25, 2022, at the Warwick Knights of Columbus, located at 475 Sandy Lane. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets will be $25 each.
The event will feature:
- Cash bar and BYOS – ‘ Bring Your Own Snacks’
- Raffles and 50/50
- Silent Auction
Sponsorships for the event start at $100. Donations in any amount would also be gladly accepted.
