Brown Surgical Associates is proud to announce that several of the group’s surgeons have been promoted at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. David Cloutier has been promoted to the rank of Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery effective July 1, 2022. This promotion recognizes Dr. Cloutier’s demonstrated high level of skill in teaching, advising, and mentoring medical students and residents, and as a practitioner. He is also recognized for his leadership within the hospital working to ensure quality improvement and safety and is the co-sponsor of several quality initiatives.
Dr. Tareq Kheirbek has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Surgery, Clinician Educator effective July 1, 2021. This promotion recognizes Dr. Kheirbek’s excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring medical students and residents, and as a practitioner has made important contributions to our clinical and research programs, as well as his involvement in national committees that foster advances in the care of injured patients.
Dr. Steven Schechter has been promoted to the rank of Clinical Professor of Surgery effective July 1, 2021. The promotion is in recognition of Dr. Schechter’s excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring medical students and residents. On a national level, Dr. Schechter has been recognized as instrumental in keeping a focus on the specialty of colon and rectal surgery and his reputation has been influential in attracting residents to the Brown Medical School program.
