Within 100 days, Deb Shapiro and her daughter were diagnosed with breast cancer. After undergoing treatment at The Center for Breast Care at Brown Surgical Associates and Lifespan’s Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic, both women want to raise money for breast cancer research and increase awareness about the resources available right here in Rhode Island.
They are organizing the first-ever “Paddle for Progress” which will benefit the Breast Oncology Research Fund at Rhode Island Hospital. BSA’s Dr. Theresa Graves will be the first kayak off the beach when the event kicks off on September 17, 2023. Watch the inspiring story behind this worthwhile event.
