PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Brown Surgical Associates today announced that fellowship-trained surgeon Samantha Ahle, MD, MHS has joined the practice’s Division of Pediatric Surgery.
Dr. Ahle specializes in pediatric surgery, with a particular interest in pediatric colorectal surgery and surgical education.
“Infants, children, and adolescents aren’t just small adults. They have very specific needs and shouldn’t have to travel far from home to get the care they need. That is why we’re committed to making sure Brown Surgical Associates has a team of skilled and compassionate providers able to care for the youngest of patients right here in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts,” said Dr. William Cioffi, President of Brown Surgical Associates. “The addition of Dr. Ahle further strengthens a pediatric surgical team that is already world-class and we’re excited to welcome her to the practice.”
Dr. Ahle received her medical degree from George Washington University’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her surgical residency with Yale School of Medicine along with fellowship training in Medical Education and Surgical Education Research. She subsequently went on to a fellowship in pediatric surgery at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
“Anytime a child needs surgery, it can be scary for them and their family. As a pediatric surgeon, it is a profound honor when a family entrusts me with their child’s care and allows me to guide and support them throughout the entirety of the process,” Dr. Ahle said. “Joining a practice like Brown Surgical Associates – which encompasses dozens of highly specialized surgeons and embraces a team approach – further ensures my patients have access to care that is both comprehensive and collaborative. I look forward to not only practicing here but also becoming an engaged member of the Rhode Island community.”
Dr. Ahle is now seeing patients at 2 Dudley Street, Suite 190 in Providence, RI. She can be reached at 401-421-1939.
