PROVIDENCE, R.I. (November 7, 2024) — Brown Surgical Associates today announced that fellowship-trained surgeon Richard Anthony Meena, MD, RPVI has joined the practice’s Division of Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Meena’s special interests include aortic disease (both abdominal and thoracic), cerebrovascular disease, end-stage renal disease, peripheral artery disease, mesenteric disease, and venous disease.

Dr. Meena completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame in 2014. He then earned his medical degree in 2018 from the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He stayed at Emory for continued training in the Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency Program. His training included a one-year clinical research fellowship, during which he explored the impact of health disparities and access to care on a number of vascular pathologies, including venous thromboembolism, end-stage renal disease, and peripheral artery disease.
“The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery within Brown Surgical Associates provides excellent patient care by offering a wide scope of treatment options,” Dr. Meena said. “I am eager to contribute to such a well-rounded group.”
