Newport Hospital has recognized James Valente, MD, CAPT, MC, USN, as its 2025 Provider of the Year. Dr. Valente, a distinguished general surgeon with Brown Surgical Associates (BSA), was honored for his dedication, expertise, and outstanding patient care.
The annual Provider of the Year award is based on nominations submitted throughout the year, celebrating exceptional contributions to the hospital and its patients. Dr. Valente had previously been named Provider of the Quarter earlier in 2024, marking him as a standout candidate for this prestigious recognition.
BSA President, Dr. Aurora Pryor, as well as Dr. Valente’s family, colleagues, and hospital staff, were in attendance when he learned about the honor.
