Dr. Elizabeth Renaud and Dr. Joshua Honeyman, pediatric surgeons at Brown Surgical Associates, said they’re seeing the pandemic taking a different kind of toll on their young patients in the form of childhood obesity.
Renaud, who is also an adolescent bariatric surgeon, said not only are referrals for weight loss surgery up, but they’re also seeing more kids with conditions often associated with being overweight.
They recently shared what they’re seeing and what can be done about the issue.
